Requirements

  • Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)

  • At least [2–3] years of relevant post-qualification experience (or as required by visa criteria)

  • Demonstrated experience working with diesel engines in heavy vehicles or mobile plant equipment Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and specifications Experience in mining or heavy industry environments is highly regarded.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 

  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective communication skills

  • Diagnose faults in diesel engines and associated mechanical components using appropriate. testing equipment and diagnostic tools . 

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair of diesel engines in heavy vehicles and mobile mining equipment (e.g. haul trucks, loaders, excavators). 

  • Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble diesel engines and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications Test and adjust mechanical parts after repair to ensure optimal performance and compliance with operational standards.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and preventative service to minimize equipment downtime. 

  • Identify and replace worn or defective engine components, including fuel systems, transmissions, and braking systems. 

  • Conduct engine performance testing and ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely. 

  • Maintain accurate service records and report on mechanical issues and completed work. 

  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures, and ensure compliance with site safety standards
